Pav Bhaji | Healthy, Tasty & Yummy | Street food at the comfort of your home

Ingredients:

Potatoes                                                           3 boiled and mashed

White peas                                                      1 cup boiled with salt and mashed

Capsicum                                                          1 small chopped

Onion                                                                1 large finely chopped

Tomatoes                                                         2 chopped

Coriander leaves                                            2 tbsp. chopped

Ginger-Garlic paste                                       1 tsp.

Salt                                                                    as required

Red chilly powder                                          1 tsp.

Pav bhaji masala                                            1 tbsp.

Lime juice                                                         1 tsp.

Butter                                                                2 tsp.

Oil                                                                      1 tbsp.

Water                                                                as required

Method:

  • Heat a kadai on medium high flame and add oil into it. Once the oil is hot add the onions and fry till they are translucent. Add the ginger-garlic paste and fry till the raw smell is gone.
  • Once the onions start turning brown add chopped tomatoes and capsicum. Fry till the tomatoes become soft.
  • Now add the red chilly powder and pav bhaji masala. Fry the masala well. If it starts burning add a dash of water and let the masala cook.
  • Now add the mashed potatoes and white peas.
  • Add a cup of water and mix everything well. Add more water to adjust the consistency. Add salt and let the bhaji come to a boil. Keep stirring in between. You can make the bhaji thick or thin as you like. Feel free to add more veggies of your choice.
  • Once the bhaji comes to a boil add the lime juice, coriander leaves and 1 tsp. of butter. Let the butter melt away.
  • Once the butter melts stir it well and bhaji is ready.
  • On a pan add 1 tsp of butter and fry the pav on both sides.
  • Serve hot bhaji with chopped onions, lime and buttered pav. Enjoy with your family.
