Cheeslings | Tea Time Snacks

Cheeslings or cheeslings biscuits are a favourite of all, be it kids or elders. This tea time snack can be easily made at home and stored in an air tight container for upto 3 weeks. Here I am sharing a basic recipe with minimum ingredients which kids love to snack on.

You can definitely add pepper powder, chilli powder, carom seeds (ajwain) or pizza seasonings into the dough as per liking.

In a bowl take some cheeslings and add some chopped onions, tomatoes, green chilli, coriander leaves, chat masala & lemon and make amazing cheeslings bhel or chat.

INGREDIENTS:

Maida – 1 cup

Melted butter – 1 tbsp.

Cheese cubes – 2 or 50 gms.

Milk – 4 tbsp.

Salt – as required

Water – as required

Oil – for deep frying

METHOD:

  • In a bowl, take the maida. Add melted butter and combine it with the flour.
  • Now add the grated cheese, milk & salt. Keep in mind that cheese cubes also contain salt.
  • Add water as required and knead a soft dough similar to a roti dough.
  • Rest the dough for 15 minutes.
  • Divide the dough into 3 equal portions.
  • Dust the dough with some flour and roll it out thin like a roti.
  • Now cut the edges to get a rectangle. You can also skip this step.
  • Cut the dough into small squares and then take it out in a plate.
  • Heat oil for deep frying on medium flame.
  • Once the oil is hot, add the rolled out dough cut in squares.
  • The dough will puff up and rise on top. Keep flipping and turning around so that the cheeslings cook evenly and also get a even colour on both sides.
  • Once the cheeslings are golden in colour take it out. It will take 2-3 minutes.
  • Let the cheeslings cool completely before storing in an airtight container.
